I love Jo Malone, their candles and diffusers smell wonderful and look beautiful, and my Pomegranate Noir diffuser takes pride of place in my living room. The Jo Malone limited-edition Nectarine Blossom and Honey Cologne Pen would be my first foray into their range of perfumes, making me justifiably excited to get my hands on it!
Released as part of the limited-edition Blossoms collection, the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey cologne pen is described as a light refreshing spring edit that explores the contrasting notes of blossoms and citrus.
The Nectarine Blossom and Honey scent combines top notes of Cassis, an intensely juicy and ripe scent which according to Jo Malone gives a crisp edge to the fragrance, followed by a smooth, sweet heart note of acacia honey and then finally a base note of succulent peach. All should combine to create a sweet and fruity scent inspired by London’s Covent Garden early morning market.
Designed to be light and portable, the 6ml pen is ideal for touching up your fragrance on the go, and with its ceramic tip it is perfect to cool and refresh the skin at the same time.
Made of smooth plastic rather than the usual glass, the packaging is less impressive than the usual Jo Malone offerings. However this makes sense as its designed to be easily carried. I actually find the sleek design modern and pleasing to hold. Its so lightweight is adds almost no weight at all when popped into your handbag.
To release the scent you click the bottom and the ceramic tip becomes wet with the cologne. The Nectarine Blossom and Honey scent is very fruity, but not overpoweringly so, with the peach being the lingering note. It could be cloying, and very nearly tips over into that but as it’s such a light perfume it lingers on just the right side of sweet and refreshing.
The Nectarine Blossom and Honey fragrance lasts well, fading with time like most fruity scents. You still get a few hours from it however. When debuted in the office my colleagues were very complimentary, saying it was a joyful and happy scent. Tt definitely feels summer appropriate!
As pen is lightweight reapplication throughout the day is not an issue. You can pop it in your bag and apply as required. This could mean it will quickly run out, containing only 6ml of product, but this is reflected in the price. At £26 this product is much more affordable than the rest of the cologne line. Making it a good option to dip your toes into the Jo Malone brand of scents.
Overall, the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey cologne is a bright and fresh addition to your perfume collection. It is perfect for on the go scent application in the summer months.
