My October beauty must-haves!

October 2, 2020

*This post may contain affiliated links, this means I may receive a small commission if you make a purchase through a link.

After last months beauty must-have piece I thought it would be fun to try and do a monthly breakdown of what products I have on my wish list, or ones that I am currently loving. So here are my October beauty must-haves that I think you will love too!

Skincare

I don’t know about you but my skin needs a bit of extra TLC in the colder months. My central heating has just been switched back on, and that along with the colder air outside means my skin is dryer, rougher and just in need of a bit of extra care. One thing I will be reaching for regularly this month is my Summer Fridays Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution.

Summer Fridays Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution

Summer Fridays are somewhat of a cult brand. And their gorgeous masks have been saving the skin of many beauty enthusiasts for a while. If you haven’t yet tried their Jet Lag Mask definitely check it out too! Their new Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Serum is likely to become just as popular!  Used overnight this 3-in-1 overnight treatment brightens the skin, as well as reducing the appearance of pores by exfoliating and lifting dead skin and refining texture. Giving you smoother, more even-toned, soft skin. It contains 16% AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids to you and me). With lactic and glycolic acids working together to trigger the skins natural resurfacing process. It also helps to reduce the look of fine lines! A perfect all-round addition to your skincare routine!

You can pick up Summer Fridays Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution for £49 from Cult Beauty.

DIOR Capture Totale Super Potent Face Serum

Another product I definitely will be using regularly is DIOR Capture Totale Super Potent Face Serum. This amazing serum is designed to make skin look more supple, reduce the look of lines and wrinkles, and give a radiant glow! A total wonder product for my 38-year-old skin!

Containing DIOR patented Bio-Cellular TechnologyTM 2, which combines 4 flowers boasting exceptional revitalizing power. As well as hyaluronic acid this serum promises healthier, younger and more radiant-looking skin!

You can get the DIOR Capture Totale Super Potent Face serum for £59.50 at Feel Unique.

Body care

And of course, you can’t neglect the skin on the rest of your body, especially during the colder months. And 2 products I am loving in my October beauty must-haves list are Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops and Frank Body Booty Drops!

Frank Body Booty Drops

If like me you are keen to keep your posterior looking as good as possible then these booty drops should be right up your street! If you haven’t heard of Frank Body yet then you need to get on board asap. This Melbourne based company began life with an all-natural coffee scrub (also amazing by the way!) which quickly expanded to a line of products designed to keep both your skin and the environment happy.

All their products are amazing and the new body oil Booty Drops are no different!  Highly caffeinated to firm skin and reduce the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite, these drops can be mixed in with your usual daily body moisturiser and will leave you with smooth, supple skin.  And, according to Frank, a booty that’s ready to be dropped on demand!

You can get your Frank Body Booty Drops for £12.95 at Cult Beauty

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops

Not a new product but one of my body care mainstays is Isle of Paradise Self-tanning Drops. Just because we are heading into winter doesn’t mean you can’t have that gorgeous summer glow a little bit longer!  These Self-tanning drops with colour correcting actives + a green base give a natural, golden glow with no streaks, no smells or orange tones. Just add to your usual body moisturiser and you’ll have a gorgeous golden glow in 4-6 hours. And they really do work! It’s the only self-tan I use now as the results just can’t be argued with.

These drops also contain avocado, chia and coconut oils to keep your skin hydrated and supple. Win-Win! They come in 3 strengths – light, medium and dark so you can mix up how tanned you want to be, for the winter I tend to go with the light as I’m super pale, but the medium is lovely too!

You can pick up Isle of Paradise Self tanning drops from Amazon for £26.95.

Makeup

I don’t know about you but in these scary, uncertain times I find treating myself to pretty things definitely helps my mood and gives me a little boost. And my round-up of October beauty must-haves definitely needs some gorgeous new makeup to boost our moods. And in the age of mask-wearing then giving those peepers the centre stage is the way to go, I am ALL ABOUT the mascara and eye products right now!

L’Oreal Paris Air Volume Mascara

L'Oreal Paris Air Volume Mascara
© L’Oreal

Air Volume mascara is a new mascara from L’oreal that promises to take your lashes to new heights, with light as air mega volume for 10x more impact. I love this stuff! I don’t have the longest lashes sadly, so am always on the lookout for mascaras that promise length, I also hate it when mascaras clump or weigh down my lashes so for me Air Volume by L’Oreal is a double winner!

It really does lengthen and volumise my lashes without weighing them down. It’s also smudge-proof, and I have intensively tested this behind my steamed up glasses courtesy of my mask, long-lasting, and hypoallergenic for those with sensitive eyes. And it does not clump! It’s my new go-to mascara to emphasise my eyes!

You can grab L’Oreal Paris Air Volume Mascara from Boots now for £10.99

And while we are emphasising those eyes then the most amazing eye shadow palette is a must! And any beauty fan knows that Urban Decay does the most gorgeous eye shadow palettes to suit every taste. Their most recent offering is so completely stunning; I swoon when I look at it!

Urban Decay Stoned Eye shadow Palette

Inspired by the multi-dimensional sparkle of precious crystals, the Urban Decay Stoned Eye shadow Palette dresses the eyes in luxury. Boasting 12 mood-shifting shades, the vegan palette offers ultra-creamy shadows that apply with a soft-touch texture, without the fallout. With 4 neutral shadows for the perfect base and then 8 unbelievably pigmented and shimmery shades, you can create so many amazing eye looks. And as always the palette itself is a work of art! I will be wearing these shades well into the festive season that’s for sure.

You can get your Urban Decay Stoned Eye Shadow palette from Look Fantastic for £46 now.

And finally, when you’ve bought all these lovely beauty products you need somewhere to store then right? Well, my newest obsession will be right up your street! Skincare Fridges! Relatively new to the UK market these fridges are designed to keep your skincare products at the optimum temperature to lengthen their life span by eliminating harmful bacteria, as well as helping their properties work as well as possible on your skin. And I have a couple of options that will be perfect for anyone’s budget that definitely need to be added to your October beauty must-haves!

KINDD Fridge

KINDD Skincare Fridge
© KINDD Skincare Fridge

The KINDD fridge is at the higher end of the price scale, but for good reason, it is completely stunning! It’s also the larger of the 2 fridges, with a capacity of 12L and measuring 27x25x42cm, it’s big enough to store all of your goodies. It keeps your skincare products at a chilly 10 degrees, which falls in the range of optimum temperature to extend shelf life and eliminate bacteria. And I mean, it will look like a piece of art in your home, it’s so so pretty!

KINDD skincare fridge is available exclusively on their website, with pre order available now for delivery in the next 10 days, for £139.

The Face Fridge

The Face Fridge
© The Face Fridge

At the lower end of the scale price-wise at £59, this fridge is completely amazing value. It’s smaller than the KINDD fridge at 25x20x28cm, but still promises plenty of space for all your most important products and won’t take up much surface space at all. Perfect for those with less room to play with! And its lower price does not mean lower quality. The Face Fridge boasts a removable door and middle shelf to suit your product sizes, a 4L capacity, temperatures of between 4 and 8 degrees AND comes with a hot setting at the flip of a switch for any products that require a little warming prior to use such as was strips, oils and sleep masks!

The Face Fridge is available from Sunday 4th October direct from their website. And they are currently running a fantastic giveaway with Oh K! where you can win one of these fantastic fridges! Details of how to enter can be found on the Face Fridge Instagram page. The giveaway ends at 23.59pm on Saturday 3rd October 2020.

Hopefully, I’ve given you some ideas for your beauty buys this month, let me know if any of my October Beauty Must-Haves are on your wishlist’s too!

Another of my skincare mainstays this morning - @d Another of my skincare mainstays this morning - @deciem The Ordinary Buffet Serum. What does this little bottle of wonderfulness not do?!

This multitasking serum targets signs of aging by reducing fine lines, boosting hydration, fading pigmentation, brightening dull skin AND smoothing skin texture! You’d almost never need to use another skincare product! Jokes of course since we are all fully addicted to all the skincare products 😂

I use it most mornings and it applies really beautifully with no stickiness and make up sits really well over it. And it’s really affordable. Love it 💜

Really loving the new @narsissist Climax Extreme m Really loving the new @narsissist Climax Extreme mascara!

I have pretty rubbish lashes, really fair and not particularly long and I really enjoy how they look with this mascara. It’s very very pigmented and adds lots of volume with just one coat!

The brush takes a little bit of getting used to, it’s huge! And I do find it gets a little smudgy by the evening, but still 100% worth it! 🤩

I have been using @herbivorebotanicals Pink Cloud I have been using @herbivorebotanicals Pink Cloud Creamy Jelly Cleanser for a few weeks now so thought I’d update you on my thoughts.

Firstly its a beautiful texture, light and gel like. It’s also gently foaming. I’m not a massive fan of foaming cleansers general as I do find my Sahara dry skin can get quite tight, but actually this one isn’t too bad at all and doesn’t seem to strip my skin much.

It’s also got a light rose scent which I really enjoy, not overpowering just really pretty.

It’s main ingredients Tremella Mushroom and rose water are designed to soothe and hydrate, and although it’s definitely not the most hydrating cleanser I think these do help to keep it quite light and refreshing rather than drying.

And of course, as with all Herbivore products it’s beautiful to look at, with the glass bottle being eco friendly. And as a big plus it’s vegan and cruelty free.

Overall it’s a really nice cleanser and while I don’t use it every day it’s definitely a nice addition to my cleanser rotation 💖

* AD/PR Got to try this gorgeous Mango Butter from * AD/PR Got to try this gorgeous Mango Butter from @themangogirl2
this week and I’m absolutely loving it!

You can use this butter anywhere - hair, skin, lips, plus it can help with skin conditions such as eczema. And it’s completely natural and vegan!

It also smells good enough to eat! 🥭 I personally love it’s rich mango scent but if you’re less keen on scented skincare it could be a bit overpowering for you.

Swipe to see how gorgeously this melts into the skin 💖 - excuse my old lady hands, still searching for a miracle for those 😂

AD/PR* The lovely people at @eskskincare have been AD/PR* The lovely people at @eskskincare have been letting me try out a skincare regime tailored just to my needs.
I’m so prone to pigmentation and it really bothers me, so it was amazing to be sent a whole set of cleansers, serums and moisturisers for AM & PM specifically designed to tackle it. And after using it for 30 days I can say I’m completely blown away by the results and these products!

As well as each of the products themselves being amazing it’s also really lovely to just have a set regime to follow, saves so much time and stops my already frazzled brain having to decide which of my many products to use each day!
